The palace build for King Kassapa in early 1400 century (Climb will take about an hour each way, must be done in the morning to avoid mid-day heat. Take some water with you and wear comfortable shoes and hat and then travel to Sri Lanka’s most impressive cave temples, the Dambulla Rock Temple. Dating back to the 1st Century BC, this stunning complex of 5 caves contains over 150 images of Buddha including an impressive 14 meter statue carved out of the cave rock
